2013 - 2014 CRITICS AWARD Announced !!

THE CW TO BROADCAST THE “CRITICS’ CHOICE MOVIE AWARDS” AND “CRITICS’ CHOICE TELEVISION AWARDS” IN 2014

The CW Television Network has partnered with the Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) and the Broadcast Television Journalists Association (BTJA) to broadcast the 19th annual “Critics’ Choice Movie Awards” for the second consecutive year, and also the 4th annual “Critics’ Choice Television Awards” in 2014, it was announced today by Joey Berlin, BFCA/BTJA President and John Maatta, Executive Vice President, The CW.

This marks the first time that the “Critics’ Choice Television Awards,” which takes place in June, will be broadcast in its entirety in primetime.

The 19th annual “Critics’ Choice Movie Awards” gala is slated to air on January 16, 2014, and the nominees will be announced on Monday, December 16, 2013. Locations and hosts for the “Critics’ Choice Movie Awards” and the “Critics’ Choice Television Awards” will be announced at a later date.

“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with The CW to include the ‘Critics’ Choice Television Awards’ in addition to the ‘Critics’ Choice Movie Awards,” said Berlin. “We believe the phenomenal success of our Movie Awards show on The CW last year was a harbinger of great things to come. Hosting our star-studded event on January 16th – the day the Academy Award nominations are announced and the world is focused on Hollywood – again guarantees that the ‘Critics’ Choice Movie Awards’ celebration will be a must-see highlight of the awards season. And the ‘Critics’ Choice Television Awards’ is poised to become as important to TV audiences as it is already to the TV industry.”

“We’re very happy to once again be the broadcast home of the ‘Critics’ Choice Movie Awards,’ and to add the ‘Critics’ Choice Television Awards’ to our schedule this season, continuing The CW’s commitment to more event programming throughout the year,” said Maatta. “With the biggest stars in movies and TV, the ‘Critics’ Choice Movie Awards’ and the ‘Critics’ Choice Television Awards’ are fantastic broadcast events for The CW as we keep adding more original hours to our primetime schedule.”

The Critics’ Choice Awards are bestowed annually by the BFCA and BTJA to honor the finest in cinematic and television achievement. The BFCA is the largest film critics’ organization in the United States and Canada, representing more than 280 television, radio and online critics. BFCA members are the primary source of information for today’s film-going public. The very first opinion a moviegoer hears about new releases at the multiplex or the art house usually comes from one of its members. BTJA is the collective voice of almost 100 journalists who regularly cover television for TV viewers, radio listeners and online audiences.

Since its inception in 1995, the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards has been a must-attend bellwether event of the movie awards season. Among the attendees at last year’s show were:
Amy Adams, Ben Affleck, Judd Apatow, Christian Bale, Kathryn Bigelow, Jack Black, Jessica Chastain, George Clooney, Bradley Cooper, Marion Cotillard, Daniel Day-Lewis, Robert De Niro, Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Tommy Lee Jones, Jennifer Lawrence, Matthew McConaughey, Joaquin Phoenix, Steven Spielberg and Rebel Wilson.
Historically, the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards are the most accurate predictor of the Academy Award nominations.

The 19th annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards will be produced by Bob Bain Productions and Berlin Entertainment.

The BFCA and Berlin Entertainment were represented by Dan Black of Greenberg Traurig.

Key ballot and submission dates for 19th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards below:

Leak and Break ("NEXUS 5" Image and "Breaking Bad" 500000 Pirated Download).!!!

The Alleged Nexus 5 Leaks!

The Nexus 5 is rumored to be upon us soon, and the rumors and leaks are popping up everywhere.

Google’s latest Nexus device, made by LG, showed up today in a curious place indeed.

Forum user weespeed posted the above picture earlier today, claiming it was the new LG Nexus 5. The user gave  a few observations along with the photo:

Got to handle the Nexus 5. It is smaller than the G2.Didn’t actually measure it, but holding it in the hand it is smaller. It does feel good holding it. The black back cover feels like my Nexus 7.The screen was ok, didn’t wow me like the Note 3.The bezel is very small.

The phone certainly looks like the alleged Nexus 5 that we’ve been seeing over the past month or so. It’s shown up on Google’s campus, at a party and LG filed for a patent for a device that appears to be the same as well. It’s got a vertical “Nexus” logo like the Nexus 7 and a solid matte black finish.

Display:  5-inch Full HD display, 442 ppi (potentially 4.97-inch)
Processor:  2.3GHz Qualcomm Snadragon 800
RAM:  2GB
Internal Storage:  16GB (could be another model too, this is what was in the log)
Camera (rear):  8MP (no idea if it has OIS like the LG G2 camera)
Camera (front):  1.2MP
Sensors:  accelerometer, magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity, light, barometer, orientation
Battery:  2300mAh (via FCC) and wireless charging
Other:  LTE, NFC
Model:  LG-D820

Over 500,000 People Pirated ‘Breaking Bad’ Series Finale 12 Hours After Appearing Online

Referred by click here:

Breaking Bad series finale was something for the history books, clocking 500,000 pirated downloads just 12 hours after the first copy appeared online.

Most users who pirate shows and movies do so because of availability issues, which is common outside of the U.S. But the numbers do show the other side of downloading, where users opt to download the content even when legal channels are available.

Based on data from TorrentFreak, 500,000 had downloaded the Breaking Bad finale within just 12 hours of the torrent going live. This puts the Breaking Bad series finale at the top of the chart for the most-pirated TV show of the year, up there with Game Of  Thrones.

According to the cart above, Australia takes the cake, coming in with 18 percent of the total downloads. The U.S. comes in second at 14.5 percent of downloads, which is interesting considering the myriad of legal ways to watch the show there. The U.K. comes in third with 9.3 percent.

At the peak of the downloading frenzy, one single copy of the Breaking Bad finale had over 85,000 downloaders. If we add up the four most popular torrents, we end up with a whopping 190,000 downloaders.

Smartphone camera or microscopic World 1st smallest camera(100 nm size) check LIVE Viruses activity!!!

(Check you body cells (just fon)) LIVE Viruses activity.

Smartphone cameras have improved a lot in recent years. They even have passable macro modes for focusing on tiny thing. If you want to focus on really small stuff, you’re going to need some additional hardware.
Aydogan Ozcan, a professor of electrical engineering and bioengineering at UCLA has created a smartphone attachment weighing less than half a pound that can detect objects far smaller than the human eye can, including viruses and synthetic nanoparticles.
It is extremely difficult to get clear images of the smallest of the small because the wavelength of light is too long. Doing that with an inexpensive mobile device is even harder. Equipment like the scanning electron microscope is massive and extremely expensive. The device developed by Ozcan is a fluorescent microscope, the body of which was 3D printed. The contraption uses a laser diode, which is directed at samples at a steep angle of roughly 75 degrees. This prevents the scattered light from interfering with the visual data.

The prototype device basically straps on to the back of a phone and lines up with the camera module. This isn’t just a device you can whip out of your pocket and snap a picture of viruses, though. You have to load the sample on a special tray and keep the device stationary to acquire a good image. When done correctly, the mobile sensor can produce images very similar to a scanning electron microscope.

Ozcan’s team used the mobile fluorescent microscope to capture images of the human cytomegalovirus (CMV), which is about 150-300nm in size. CMV is one of the larger viruses, but still tiny. Researchers were also able to detect 100nm nanoparticles marked with polystyrene beads.

Ozcan believes this approach could bring advanced imaging technology to more places, even those without reliable electricity No one can yet estimate how much a production version of the device would cost, but it would probably be far less than a scanning electron microscope and just a little more portable too.

Pressy Android App: Click button and make Call,Browsers,Social Network,Camera, etc.,

Pressy: the one-button Android controller so cool it was Kickstarted in under a day

If Kickstarter had a 24-hour funders club, Pebble and the Bolex Camera would be welcoming Pressy today.

In under a day, the multifunction Android controller has more than doubled its $40,000 goal (raising $108,435 from 4,889 backers as of this writing) and with 45 days left to go, the numbers keep climbing. Perhaps its simplicity is what's making it such a hit. Pressy plugs into any Android device's headphone port (Gingerbread and above), and clicking its unobtrusive 0.7mm-tall button controls and automates any manner of your gizmo's functions.

Through its app you can assign a given task to a sequence of clicks; it's up to you if it takes two short clicks to speed-dial your mom or one long press to snap an unobtrusive picture, for example. You can still use it if you have a pair of headphones in too, with the cans' play button subbing in for control. Clever.

Developer Nimrod Back has promised Pressy will be available within four months. A basic Pressy will set you back $17, for a choice of colors with a keychain storage sheath you'll have to pony up $25.

11-Year-Old Quinn Sheeran Makes Deodorant Stick Play Rocky Theme Song

Eleven-year-old Quinn Sheeran has developed a new way for guys to enjoy their deodorant sticks. Reddit Falls In Love

11-year-old Quinn Sheeran took a simple container of Old Spice deodorant and hacked it so it does something that it should have done since 1976 – it plays the theme from Rocky when you open it. Old Spice, hire this kid.

When the cap is removed from the deodorant stick, the Rocky theme song plays as deodorant is applied.

Old Spice could really capitalize on the “feel great while putting on our deodorant” angle if they ran with it. Heck, we have seen stranger from the men’s hygiene company over the last several years of the firm’s re-invention.
Realizing the coolness of the product Quinn’s older cousin posted the video on YouTube. After Reddit users pushed the product to the top spot on Reddit, he posted another video on August 18 which explains the process. The explanation video has already received 35,595 views at the time of this post.
While we probably don’t need an uplifting theme song to apply deodorant, it might just wake us up during an early morning workday or provide us with the motivation we need to prepare for a run or workout at the gym. For Quinn Sheeran, the invention has landed him on CNN in a spot that will air tonight at 6:55 PM Eastern.

Reddit has a habit of taking cool but useless things and making them popular. Typically, it isn’t even the product or idea that gains the attention but rather the person who builds the idea. In this case, Quinn is being hailed for his hardware hacking skills and on sites like Reddit there is plenty of support for life hacks.

This is what we need more of in America, kid inventors with a bright future in hardware design.

So what cool applications could you see Quinn Sheeran’s invention being used for in the future?

App for KEY-NYC Startup KeyMe!!!

NYC Startup KeyMe Releases An App That Promises You’ll Never Get Locked Out Again

Iris and fingerprint scanning may be the future of locksmithing, but when it comes to keys, most of us are still using the good old-fashioned brass sort. And that means the occasional lock out.

New York based start-up KeyMe is hoping to solve that problem by creating a secure, cloud-based keychain that stores keys’ cutting instructions and makes it easy to walk into a locksmith to have a replacement made. Their iOS app, out today, enables users to scan and store their keys at any time.

Founded in 2012, KeyMe raised a $2.3 million seed round at the beginning of the year led by Battery Ventures. Coinstar founder Jens Molbak, who sits on KeyMe’s board, also participated in the round, along with a number of other investors. KeyMe Founder and CEO Greg Marsh told us that they are not looking to raise at the moment.

The concept behind KeyMe is surprisingly simple. Using the app, you place your key on a white piece of paper and take two scans, of its front and back. The app then translates that into two pieces of information: the key type and a series of numbers that serves as the depth cutting instructions for any locksmith. That data is stored in your digital keychain, and when you do end up losing your keys, it costs $9.99 to unlock that information plus the price of your local locksmith’s cutting work.

“The locksmith doesn’t need to know anything about us or have any special software. You walk in and pull up a screen on your phone which is the instructions. It has your key type and that series of numbers, which is common locksmith language. Without any precontext they’ll be able to use their hardware and make your key,” Marsh said.

The app itself is free, as is creating an account and storing an unlimited number of keys.

In total, it’s a fraction of the cost and time of getting a locksmith out to your place to make a new key from scratch, Marsh said, which can take hours and cost up to $150. He knows from experience: his fiancée, who frequently locks herself out, gave him the inspiration for the startup.

Some New Yorkers may have already come across KeyMe while out on a Slurpee run this summer. In June, KeyMe installed self-service kiosks in five Manhattan 7-Eleven stores that can both make duplicates of physical keys and scan keys for future lockouts. Marsh said that the kiosks have already done a couple thousand transactions, although he declined to give specific numbers.

Because KeyMe is cloud-based it’s also possible to share keys between friends and family members. If your buddy is staying at your house for the night and you can’t meet him when he gets in, he can make a copy of the key himself. Of course, that does mean putting more duplicates of your keys out in the world, but for now let’s assume that friends are trustworthy.

While other companies like StickNFind and Tile use Bluetooth to track keys to prevent losing them in the first place, KeyMe is differentiating itself by approaching key loss as inevitable and dealing with it after the fact.

As far as scaling goes, Marsh isn’t worried. In fact, he’s hoping to have a national impact from day one.

“The nice thing about the app is that from day one it can address a national audience. Everyone can scan their key, and then if they get locked out we are a million times cheaper and more convenient than a locksmith. Hopefully it’ll help a lot of people quickly.”

More kiosks will also be rolling out over the coming months. Between the kiosk expansion and KeyMe’s option to send away for cheap customizable duplicates, it seems that the start-up is hoping to close the loop on information storage and key production. That’s a ways off, but if KeyMe can convince people that their information is secure, it could unlock the stagnant home key industry in a considerable way.
