LiveMap Motorcycle Helmet like Google Glass!!

Heads-up display helmet gives motorcyclists live maps

A group of technology veterans hailing from Russia have announced plans to begin selling what they call the LiveMap, a motorcycle helmet that will display maps, vehicle speed, and the time right on the helmet's transparent visor. Based on the Android operating system, the LiveMap works using voice commands and needs no connection to the Internet except during software updates.

The helmet's lighting display system will adjust for day and night viewing conditions and will contain a gyroscope, allowing the map imagery to change depending on the viewing direction of the wearer. And, despite the device's Android underpinnings, the creators intend for it to be a targeted use device, so no games or video content will be included as part of the system.

The helmet is scheduled to start shipping in August of 2014 for $2,000 each, but the group is offering the helmet for $1,500 for early supporters of the project on Indiegogo. International launch parties will also be held for the device next year in Russia, Tokyo, Barcelona, Athens, Rome, Berlin, and Paris, but you can get an early peek at how it works in the video below.

Fun becomes WORLD RECORD

Closeup, please! IBM creates the world’s smallest movie starring atom particles

As much as we would like to think science is fascinating and cool, everyone knows that behind closed doors, the lab researches can get daunting and, well, a little boring.

So the folks at IBM decided to have a little fun with science and used one-of-a-kind equipments to manipulate atoms and create a one minute stop-motion movie.

They manipulated atom particles to shape characters and letters and pieced together a short stop-motion film. Where are these guys’ Oscars?

The movie, A Boy And His Atom, is an adorable short about a kid who finds a single particle and lets his imagination unfold.

The IBM team was able to manually move the atoms around for the correct shapes and sequences with its proprietary “scanning tunneling microscope” which uses vibrations, temperature, and pressure levels to precisely control the atoms.

Using needles, the team was able to physically attract the atoms on a copper surface to move them into position. Then, they used a microscope to capture each of the 242 frames, combining the photos into the world’s literally smallest movie.

“Capturing, positioning and shaping atoms to create an original motion picture on the atomic-level is a precise science and entirely novel,” said Andreas Heinrich, Principle Investigator, IBM Research. “At IBM, researchers don’t just read about science, we do it. This movie is a fun way to share the atomic-scale world while opening up a dialogue with students and others on the new frontiers of math and science.”

The video speaks best for itself, so watch the little movie below to restore your faith and interest in science.

Bracelet Keeps you Safe! Anti Kidnap Bracelet

Anti-Kidnap Bracelet Keeps Human Rights Workers Safe

It’s a terrible thing to think about, but the people who stand up for human rights are often mistreated and even killed for their beliefs. In 2009, a human rights activist named Natalia Estemirova was kidnapped and murdered while performing her important human rights work. Human rights defenders are often attacked in remote locations and their fates can remain a mystery for untold lengths of time. The Natalia Project was formed in Estemirova’s honor to help other civil rights activists stay safe.

The project involves an alarm worn on the activist’s wrist. If the wearer is injured, attacked or abducted in the line of duty, he or she can manually trigger the wristlet’s alarm. The alarm will sound on its own if the bracelet is removed forcefully. A signal goes out to the Civil Rights Defenders and a network of committed individuals who then spread the word on the activist’s situation. The activist’s location is transmitted via the GPS located in the bracelet.

All parts of the network have jobs to perform. Some send reports to news outlets, some speak to the media, some work with government officials to ensure the safety of the endangered activist. The regimes behind the kidnappings and other atrocities obviously want to avoid having their actions broadcast to the entire world, so the Natalia Project aims to shine a spotlight on them. The bracelets will start appearing on the arms of civil rights workers any day now.

SKYPE Big Entry in to BLACKBERRY 10!!

Skype For BlackBerry 10 Arrives, But It’s A World Of Hurt

BlackBerry said on Wednesday it plans to fill one of the biggest gaps in the app line-up on its new BlackBerry 10 devices with a long-awaited Skype application.

Skype has officially announced the availability of its BlackBerry 10 app, out initially for Q10 devices, which means not many people will have access to it, since the Q10 doesn’t ship until the beginning of May.

The good news is, the app provides does indeed provide access to Skype VoIP and chat services. The bad news is, it does so with a bare minimum of elegance resulting in a painful UX.while it may solve some of BlackBerry’s app issues, Android porting isn’t a great long-term solution.

Skype, which was acquired by Microsoft Corp in 2011, allows its users to communicate via voice, video or chat over the Internet, by-passing traditional telephone networks. The service has hundreds of millions of users across the globe.

The announcement comes a day after BlackBerry said its new Q10 smartphone will be available in Canada on May 1, and in the United States before the end of May. The Q10, which comes with the physical keyboard that many of BlackBerry’s core fan base cherish, is the second device to be powered by the company’s new BB10 operating system.

Skype will be available on the Q10 on launch day. Users of the existing Z10 touchscreen device will have to wait a few weeks more to get Skype, after a software upgrade on the operating system, BlackBerry said.

A smaller app base than Apple’s iOS and Google Inc’s Android platforms has been one of the biggest criticisms of the new BlackBerry system. It has yet to offer some big-name apps like Netflix and Instagram.

Easy way to test Dog Breed DNA!! With Online Test Kit!! Check your DOG ancestry

New Improved Dog DNA Test Now Covers 200+ Breeds And Varieties Advanced Science Enables Improved Accuracy and Breed Coverage in Wisdom Panel 2.0

The state-of-the-art dog DNA test, Wisdom Panel(R) 2.0 from Mars Veterinary(TM), a global leader in pet care and canine genetic breed identification, offers unprecedented accuracy by testing for more than 200 breeds and varieties, including 100 percent of American Kennel Club registered breeds.

Armed with breed insights, the test can finally answer those nagging behavior questions and may help owners have a better relationship with their dog and take better care of their dog's health. (PRNewsFoto/Mars Veterinary)

Reap the Benefits of Wisdom with Ease

With a simple cheek swab, dog owners can get valuable DNA-based insights, which help explain their dog's unique appearance, behaviors and wellness needs, especially when they don't know the history of their dog or have pedigree documents

Mixed breed dog owners and owners of rescue or shelter adopted dogs (28 percent of dogs are adopted each year from either an Animal Shelter, Humane Society or a Rescue Group) will find out the breeds that make-up their beloved pet.

For owners of purebred dogs, the results will illustrate whether the dog's ancestry consists of a single breed over three generations, and for owners of designer dogs, the results will similarly show whether the dog's profile matches a first generation cross between two purebred dogs from different breeds, which forms a true designer dog.

A dog's ancestry can be influential in surprising ways. Obvious and not-so-obvious physical traits plus behaviors like digging, herding and barking can all come from the various breeds in a dog's family tree. Once an owner understands a dog's natural tendencies, it makes it possible to create a tailored training, exercise and nutrition program to fit his one-of-a-kind needs, plus it may help owners work with their veterinarians to be on the lookout for certain diseases they never would have expected.

"We are excited to offer Wisdom Panel® 2.0, the next generation in dog DNA testing, which will allow owners to learn more about their beloved pets," said Dr. Angela Hughes , DVM, Ph.D., veterinary genetics research manager at Mars Veterinary. "Since the inception of Wisdom Panel®, we have been making continued advancements in the science supporting our products and working to add further insights for the many dog lovers we aim to help."

Wisdom Panel® 2.0 is available for $79.99 at www.wisdompanel.com.

select dog centric traditional retailers. It includes the "do-it-yourself" cheek swabs, allowing owners to simply administer the test at home and mail back the sample in a pre-paid package.

Within three weeks of receipt of the swab sample, dog owners will be emailed an official Ancestry Report revealing their dog's genetic background. The report for Wisdom Panel® 2.0 allows dog owners to upload a photo of their dog onto www.wisdompanel.com for inclusion on their report.

Wisdom Panel® 2.0 Ancestry Report offers new advancements that provide:

Breed ancestry identification back to great-grandparents for mixed breed dogs
Breed certification and level of genetic diversity for purebred dogs
Illustration that a dog is a true 50/50 hybrid of two purebred parents for designer dogs
Adult weight range prediction to help make appropriate nutrition and diet choices
Breed insights to help provide a better training program, understand behavior, and create an effective care and wellness plan.
